Lockton - Crisis Management
A crisis event has always carried a high level of severity, whether that be financial, mortal, operational or reputational. Recent global dynamics have seen a significant uptick in frequency of crisis events which has made organisations around the world take not of their own crisis management plans.
In light of all these factors, it’s clear that traditional insurance solutions do not provide the broad and responsive cover that businesses require.
The Lockton Crisis Management function comprises a team of market-leading insurance experts across Terrorism/Political Violence, Active Assailant, Product Recall, Reputational Risk and Special Crime (Kidnap and Ransom).
Lockton – Terrorism and Political Violence
The threat of political instability, terrorism and civil unrest are often unforeseen, unpredictable and can materialize in an instant. This presents challenges as political violence and terrorism risks are often excluded from many insurance policies.
The Lockton Terrorism team work closely with clients and network partners, in the design, placement and servicing of Terrorism and Political Violence programs globally. These programs are frequently tailored to included innovative coverages which include Active Assailant, Threat, Liability and Impairment of Access.
Broker Support / Junior Broker Role – What is involved?
As a Broker Support / Junior Broker in the Terrorism team you will join our market leading team of insurance experts to provide innovative, detailed and best practice service for clients across a wide ranging portfolio.
You will work closely with the Brokers to provide technical support on client and market facing work, including the timely completion of market slips, producing risk quotations and reviewing client documentation. Additionally, you will be engaging with Lockton’s placement facilities which can accommodate enquiries from around the world.
This is a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment so previous experience of the insurance industry is helpful as a foundation but what is most important to us is your ability to learn the role, build strong working relationships and to have a positive, entrepreneurial approach to work.
Qualifications

What are the typical responsibilities as a Broker Support / Junior Broker?

  • Build your understanding of placing Terrorism business in the Lloyd’s and company markets to work towards placing your own risks and endorsements
  • Support the Brokers in gathering detailed information on clients, industry analysis and geopolitical information
  • Review and analyse underwriting information in order to draft market submissions for review
  • Prepare slips and marketing information to present to Brokers
  • Ensure all required information is documented and work with the Divisional Support and IBA teams to support on invoicing and debt management
  • Coordinating with the dedicated Claims team in the event of a lossBuild strong partnerships across the wider Crisis Management business

What skills and experience would we like you to have?

  • Previous experience of working in the Insurance industry will be helpful as a foundation
  • Good attention to detail, an interest in research and analysis and the ability to provide structured, reasoned decisions will be beneficial
  • Ability to build strong relationships with technical, sales and operational colleagues and market contact will be beneficial
  • Desire to join a dynamic, entrepreneurial team in a growing organisation to start or take the next step in your insurance career
