Description:

Our client, a leader in the building automation and controls industry, is seeking a dedicated Design Engineer to join their dynamic team. This position offers the opportunity to apply technical knowledge and prior experience to support the design, material selection, and development of control project sequences of operation.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in assisting the engineering of controls programs, graphics, and the production of closeout documents for each project, ensuring high customer satisfaction and the delivery of quality products and services.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and any technical school training.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Windows, AutoCAD, VISIO, with a basic understanding of TCP/IP network structures and web navigation.
  • Highly organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
  • Independent and autonomous work ethic with ownership of all assigned tasks.
  • Commitment to ensuring high customer satisfaction and delivering the highest quality deliverables.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply basic technical knowledge and experience to support controls project design, material selection, and sequence of operation development.
  • Assist in engineering controls programs, graphics, and system databases.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers and/or Project Engineers for the timely completion of projects.
  • Participate in software design tasks for continued development in sophisticated and larger system applications.
  • Some travel and job site visits may be required.
  • Assist in producing control system design drawings, sequence of operations, and submittals.
  • Research and select control system peripherals.
  • Collaborate with project team members to identify additional customer options (e.g., energy efficiency, equipment interface, value engineering).
  • Modify controls designs to reflect field changes during the implementation process.
  • Assist Senior Design Engineers in compiling documentation for Operation & Maintenance manuals.
  • Manage time and cost budgets for assigned project tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with project team members regarding problems, obstacles, and information needs.
  • Submit daily/weekly work reports to project team leadership.
  • Manage weekly time allocations across multiple projects.
  • Participate in safety training classes (OSHA 10 and OSHA 30).
  • Engage in ongoing development programs with other entry-level engineers.
