As a Building Control Support Officer (Administrator) Trainee you will be responsible for providing efficient, responsive, and high-quality technical assistance to the Place Department and assisting in routine customer service tasks for this area.
We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate who is willing to learn whilst supporting the busy Building Control Team.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • This great opportunity is open to those with Technical Support experience or to those with a Retail or Hospitality background and looking for a career change.
  • You will have five GCSEs above C grade including Maths and English, NVQ2.
  • It is essential that you are able to demonstrate strong customer service skills and the ability to interact in an effective and efficient way.
  • We require you to have a good knowledge of IT with experience of various different Office packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be under the supervision of the Technical Support Team Leader and will assist in the delivery of high quality technical assistance to the Building Control Team and its customers.
  • In the role you will provide a front line service giving an initial response to customers which may include telephone and office callers. This will involve answering general enquiries, the collation of information in relation to applications, licences and service requests, advising customers where their information is incomplete.
  • Duties will include indexing and filing documents into the DMS, electronic mail distribution and assist other members of staff with any duties relevant to the service.
  • You will be preparing documents and other materials to a good standard following a clear brief and using established formats and software and provide general administrative support for the service e.g. photocopying, filing, ordering and other routine tasks.
  • Collecting information and maintain records, you will use established formats, software and procedures.
