Description:

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree a plus but not required.

EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years (Two 12-month periods) maintenance related experience, including a minimum of 1000 hours of on-the-job experience.
  • Experience with Electrical/electronic troubleshooting in a manufacturing plant.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC’s; instrumentation, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration.
  • Experience with industrial, mechanical, electrical, computer systems.
  • Experience with Windows based PCs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of or be willing and able to train in Maintenance Systems (SAP), lubricants & lubricating systems, & new technologies in predictive maintenance.
  • Must have knowledge of & capable of performing special technical skill (basic electrical troubleshooting, basic PLC skills, machining, welding tasks, high pressure gases)
  • Must have a working knowledge of electrical installation & construction, AC/DC motor drives, gearboxes, hydraulics & pneumatics systems.
  • Must have the ability & initiative to lead & participate in plant problem-solving teams, ability to apply problem-solving techniques, communicate effectively, demonstrate leadership & plan effectively.
  • Able to work well in a team-based environment with limited supervision.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to move up to 50 lbs.
  • Perform area housekeeping duties.
  • Must be able to work well in a team-based environment with limited supervision, and be available to work any shift, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, multifaceted environment & be able to communicate effectively.
  • Adhere to OHS policies and procedures and ensure a safe and healthy workplace environment.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be aware of potential exposure to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; and high noise areas.
