At the start of our 2025 Business Plan, we are looking to appoint a forward-thinking and driven Building Surveyor to our London office, to join a growing team.

You can expect to work on a range of schemes for an ever-growing client mix in both the private and public sectors (including schools, hospitals, residential development, local authorities retail and commercial), with your key duties including contract administration, project management, undertaking surveys, inspections, specification writing, schedules etc.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience working on relevant projects, ideally in the public and private sectors
  • Contract administration knowledge (JCT / NEC3)
  • Working towards gaining chartership
  • Knowledge of building principles, preparing plans and specifications
  • Ability to monitor and report on progress and expenditure of projects
  • Excellent communication, team working and client facing skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • A professional and compassionate attitude
  • A commitment to delivering a high-quality client experience
  • Teamworking skills
  • An inquisitive nature

Responsibilities:

  • Supports and delivers on projects, monitoring progress and expenditure
  • Uses commercial awareness to assist in project resourcing
  • Provides technical support in bid preparation and general business development activities
  • Supports and undertakes surveys in accordance with firm’s procedures
  • Attends client meetings, presentations etc
  • Monitors day to day programming, planning, internal costs, prepares and issues fee invoices
  • Liaises directly with clients and other stakeholders as appropriate
  • Develops and sustains client relationships, being responsible for checking of documents, reports etc. as appropriate
