Position Description
Are you looking for something a little different? Rotorua Lakes Council are looking for a motivated team player with a working knowledge of the building industry to join our Building Services team.
As our Building Technician – Inspection you will process annual building warrant of fitness applications and provide support to the Building – Inspection team by dealing with building compliance and certification related technical enquiries and contributing to the effective and efficient delivery of its core functions.
Our ideal candidate will have good understanding of building terminology with the ability to read and understand plans, specifications, technical documents and reports. You will be a great communicator and be comfortable using your communication skills to build rapport with both internal and external customers. Professionalism and accuracy will be a critical requirement of the role as will the ability to multi-task and prioritise different types of work.
This position would suit an individual looking to utilise your current building knowledge or as a stepping stone for someone considering a career change into the processing or inspecting space in the future. It is a busy and demanding environment so we welcome someone with a good sense of humour and positive attitude.
