Description:

Exciting opportunity to join this Outdoor company! The Business Analyst for Wal*Mart / Sam’s Club provides accurate and meaningful forecast and sales data analysis for the Exxel Outdoors mass business with Wal-Mart and Sam’s. This position analyzes sales history, WM ladder plan forecasts, POS, inventory levels, production lead times and product demand to determine the required fulfillment levels. He/She works closely with the Walmart Replenishment Manager’s to tactically plan and drive the Exxel Outdoors business with Wal-Mart/Sam’s. Accuracy, attention to detail and ability to extract and analyze Walmart and marketplace data effectively to provide fact based conclusions and solution based recommendations are key requirements in this position. This role is located in the offsite Bentonville Arkansas office that is a satellite office supporting Walmart.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or Finance.
  • 3-5 years Walmart experience in Account Management, as a Business Analyst or related field.
  • Required recent in-depth knowledge and hands on experience of Retail Link / Luminate and to be eligible to gain Retail Link / Luminate access for Exxel upon hire.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Candidate should be a self-starter with problem solving skills, able to determine the root cause of issues and willing to take action to resolve.
  • Co-managed training certification.
  • Must have excellent computer skills with an advanced understanding of excel.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate business data to all levels within the organization.
  • Must be proactive, detail/numbers oriented and able to meet deadlines.
  • Exude confidence and professionalism in working with accounts and Wenzel Team.
  • Must be able to function effectively and independently in a small office environment.
  • Merchandising experience a plus.
  • Beneficial to have worked with outdoor and leisure products.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assigned Accounts: Wal-Mart and Sam’s.
  • Assists the Director of National Accounts – Walmart / Sam’s to achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales goals through proper order, forecasting and inventory management. The Business Analyst’s primary responsibility is to ensure the best possible communication and processes through effective training, communication and involvement with the order tracking, inventory analysis and delivery activities.
  • Assists the Director of National Accounts Walmart / Sam’s in detailed preparation of all forecasting and internal sales plan documents.
  • Act as the Walmart Retaillink / Luminate expert for Exxel Outdoors.
  • Required recent in-depth knowledge and hands on experience building custom reporting in Retail Link / Luminate.
  • Required recent In-depth knowledge and hands on experience with Item 360 / QMS (Quote Management System) / Aspen/ OTIF/ Nova.
  • Create and provide daily, weekly, and monthly Retaillink / Luminate reports including sales and share reports and ad hoc reports as needed to support sales and replenishment planning and activities for Walmart stores, dotcom, DSV, and total omni-channel businesses.
  • Provide regular category recaps to Exxel Leadership with insights to sales trend and market share changes based on Luminate data.
  • Provide inventory reports and data pulls to Replenishment Analysts for weekly DC pushes and manual order recommendations to Walmart.
  • Build weekly category Ladder Plans and meet with Walmart replenishment managers bi-monthly to review ladder plans and provide insights and recommendations,
  • Utilizes all elements of Retail Link’s CPFR reporting and internal IOF forecasting model.
  • Work with operations team to coordinate product shipments from multiple US facilities as well as direct import shipments into Walmart’s IDC’s.
  • Oversee the product sampling process for the Layout Center, and other sample requests, including but not limited to ordering, receiving, labeling, and delivering samples by identified deadlines.
  • Total maintenance of Supplier Quote application in Retail Link. Prepare and submit product quotes in Retail Link Quote Management System by required deadlines, maintaining all necessary updates after initial submission.
  • Detailed quote sheet preparation (CBM calculations, tariff verification, freight rate verification, etc.)
  • Implement all Item Set Ups for Walmart and Sam’s Club and manage ongoing item maintenance.
  • Manage Audits and tracking on Walmart.com, providing updates to Walmart Sales Team including pricing (key driver items), features and promotional item performance and status, searchability optimization, and reviews tracking.
  • Develops club lists for Sam’s items through detailed Retail Link analysis to ensure proper inventory is maintained at all clubs.
  • Daily use of Sam’s Allocation tool to manage the flow of our inventory to the clubs.
  • Establish strong customer rapport and reliability within the account to become a trusted advisor.
  • Participate in customer touch base appointments, category line reviews, Joint Business Planning, and Quarterly Business Reviews
  • Attends regular meetings with account replenishment manager to review order status and activity. Work closely with Walmart and Sam’s Replenishment managers to monitor inventory levels using Wal-Mart’s replenishment ladder plan analysis tool. Continual communication with Replenishment department to ensure up-to-date accuracy.
  • Own a relationship directly with Walmart staff on a weekly basis. Strong understanding of Walmart’s Go to Market strategy and strong communication and customer focused mindset are critical to servicing the customer in this role.
  • Reporting of key metrics, new planogram updates, display promotions, lost sales, inventory reviews, with specialized focus where needed.
  • Drive new approaches to analyzing business results and trends and create ad hoc reporting for situational analysis, as needed.
  • Assist in developing presentations to collaboratively gain accounts’ support of innovation, displays and promotional/pricing strategy.
  • Monitor and communicate regularly to Product Managers and Sales Managers all availability and/or inventory issues.
  • Work with the Sales staff to help disseminate product information, production and shipment status, and retail movement to the relevant buyer(s).
  • Manage elevated or sensitive accounts calls. Take control and be proactive with calls from accounts.
  • Exercise sound business judgment.
  • Work independently and collaboratively and manage time effectively to meet changing deadlines and priorities.
  • Acts as office manager of the Exxel Outdoors Bentonville office. Maintain all files, reports, and related activities in a professional, timely and organized manner.
  • Delivers samples and reports to buyers, replenishment buyers, and other pertinent account personnel as needed.
