Description:

The secret to our success is our people. While we are ordinary people, we are not all the same. We welcome diversity, in all its forms, in fact we consider it a strength. Join us and work at the heart of national security to protect New Zealand and New Zealanders.
The New Zealand Intelligence Community (NZIC) is looking for an experienced and highly competent Business Analyst with the necessary skills to get amongst enhancing Aotearoa’s national security. This role sits within our Technology Directorate, which serves the GCSB, NZSIS and wider NZIC, and is at the forefront of making sure our people are connected across the mission and have the information, tools and support they need to succeed.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR FROM YOU:

As well as enthusiasm, passion, and willingness to learn, confidence in your communication skills will be a must. You will need to have the ability to initiate those first connections and liaise with stakeholders and customers, while working across various projects which will require the ability to pivot and be adaptable. We will also be looking for you to have:
Experience in a relevant position that has required you to work in an analyst or consulting function
Experience working on process improvement, technical projects, or data analytics
A good ability to engage with users and understand the information they provide
Know how to analyse workflows, understand them, and make them better
Ability to understand user stories and liaise with technical experts to translate these into technical actions
You will need to be organised, solution-focussed, and promote a standardised approach to both process and practice. Your eye for detail and commitment to accuracy and quality will be appreciated and well utilised.
What can we offer you?
Mentorship and professional development opportunities that will help you grow in your career.
A supportive team environment - we have a friendly and inclusive culture where you can focus and learn. Differences are respected.
Extra benefits - flexible schedule for work/life balance, a fun social club, in-house gym (Wellington), childcare subsidies, health insurance and eye checks are just some of our everyday perks.
We offer comprehensive benefits, flexibility and work-life balance. If you have questions about working with us, we’ve busted the most common myths - check out our myth busting booklet https://beyondordinary.nzic.govt.nz/mythbusting
To be eligible for employment within the NZIC you must have been a NZ citizen for at least 10 years. Alternatively, you must hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years.
You must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance. Ordinarily to obtain this level of clearance candidates must have a 15 year checkable background in countries where meaningful and reliable checks can be undertaken. Where requisite checks are unable to be made, the candidate application may not be able to be progressed.
Use this online tool to self-check your eligibility for a TSS security clearance. Please note that this tool is not part of the formal security clearance process: http://www.protectivesecurity.govt.nz/eligibility-tool
The NZIC treats all applications for employment in the strictest confidence and we ask that you maintain a similar level of confidentiality. You are expected to exercise discretion during the recruitment process and throughout your career
