Process Improvement and Change is an important function of HSBC Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB) helping to achieve global and local strategic goals through project delivery. The team consists of Business Analysts, Testing, and Change Management, and works on projects to improve efficiencies and sustainability within WPB. The team works closely with key stakeholders across WPB’s divisions, as well as the Transformation and Technology team.
We are currently seeking a Business Analyst to join our existing community of Business Analysts. This role will support various critical strategic projects across the Wealth & Personal Banking business within the Product and Process Improvement team.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Define product, technology and operations requirements and system goals through partnership with the relevant teams and end users
  • Filter, prioritise and validate complex material from multiple sources
  • Develop and document clear and detailed process maps, business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and contribute to test plans
  • Problem resolution – good investigation, innovation, and analytical skills
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of information, and a curiosity to ask appropriate questions to fully develop business and functional requirement
  • Collaborate with business partners, technology groups, suppliers & customers to manage and provide updates on the value streams
  • Drive the solutions and design with the relevant streams
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with the product, operations & technology teams
  • Identify opportunities to improve ways of working, and engage the team and functions on regular retrospectives to identify suggestions for change
  • Consider the business implications of the application of solutions to the current business environment
  • Employing a continuous improvement mindset to identify and define issues or problems that are less obvious.
  • Other relevant duties & functions as assigned from time to time

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in Agile, Lean, Waterfall and Human Centred Design methodologies
  • Be comfortable with navigating ambiguity and proactively drive outcomes
  • Thorough understanding of the Australian banking market
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of end-to-end digital banking solutions
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with our technical and business stakeholders
  • A pragmatic approach to providing solution-based advice/guidance, with our customer’s needs front of mind
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, related field, or equivalent experience.

Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
