Description:
New 6 month contract opportunity to work for the federal government here in Sydney. Hybrid way of working, 3 days in and 2 days out of the office. Baseline clearance is needed or must be able to attained for this opportunity.
Division
The Analytics, Data and Actuarial Division provides information and advice on Scheme monitoring, financial sustainability and risks. They perform analysis and provide insights for the overall financial sustainability of the Scheme.
The division also provide operational data, insights and analytics to all operational teams, driving service delivery performance. They produce the annual financial sustainability report and quarterly actuarial reports, and provide information and advice to the CEO and the Board.
The Executive Office Branch act as an enabling function to support the division with managing requests and providing advice to internal and external stakeholders. They coordinate the release of any external data requests and are responsible for the identification of continuous improvement strategies and operations for the broader division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand the strategy and the changing needs of the organisation. Capture business requirements and identify underlying business needs.
- Carry out analysis of present processes and identify opportunities to enhance processes – current and target state.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure appropriate stakeholders are included in the development and revision of process models.
- Translate subject-matter expert and stakeholder discussion into process flows and procedures for the business supporting the implementation of new business process.
- Identify and document instances where existing business processes may be streamlined or improved or do not meet current or potential future business needs.
- Develop, maintain, and distribute business process documentation to stakeholders.
- Input to the design and implementation of reports, dashboards and alerts that support the business processes and deliver business insight.
- Liaise with management to coordinate process improvement project activities.
Essential criteria
- Have experience in with Business Process Modelling, especially configuration of a workflow management tool, and defining team workflows would be advantageous.
- Process Mapping-Able to translate discussion into process flows and process documentation.
- Experience with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle.
- Showcase good analytical and evaluating skills.
- Good interpersonal skills, stakeholder engagement and management.

Desirable criteria
- Experience / knowledge of data and analytics systems and processes in data driven organisations is a big plus
- Understanding how to use/configure Jira/Confluence in the Atlassian suite would be valuable.
- The ability to understand ticket hierarchies of issue types, the coding of simple queries and embedding these into filters.
- Experience in using common industry plug ins such as the testing suite that integrates in JIRA, Bamboo and Bitbucket integration, etc is valuable.
