We are currently seeking an IT Business Analyst (12-month contract) who will seek inspiration from our roots, can commit to achieving results the right way and loves to think big to join us on our journey.
The IT Business Analyst acts as an integral member of the IT team, reporting to the Senior Manager – Project Delivery & Innovation and will work closely with internal IT and business stakeholders as well as third-party vendors to define and document detailed requirements and deliver key IT initiatives. The successful candidate will support a culture rooted in innovation and continuous improvement.

The IT Business Analyst will be responsible for and evaluated on the following:

  • Work as part of a project team to gather and document detailed business requirements and collaborate with IT and business partners to align on proposed solutions
  • Partner with the PDI team throughout the project delivery lifecycle to ensure all project goals and objectives are met through the planning, analysis, development, and testing phases
  • Lead the execution of smaller IT projects. Define stakeholder roles, responsibilities, develop and manage the project plan
  • Participate in the investigation and analysis of specific business requirements and user needs; and to establish the suitability of an IT solution
  • Provide recommendations to users on appropriate solutions, along with guidance concerning the business implications of application development projects
  • Lead process improvement efforts to enhance business performance. Assist in evaluating new technologies that may enable business success
  • Ensure system and business requirements are met by monitoring and collecting feedback post-implementation
  • Bridge the gap between both business and IT teams, ensuring common understanding and alignment of both functional and non-functional requirements
  • Execute and support various levels of application testing
  • Update and implement operational procedures through projects or support to ensure smooth operation and acceptable performance
  • Troubleshoot reported application issues and help facilitate resolution to prevent future issues going forward

Top candidates for the IT Business Analyst role will have the following:

  • Post-secondary Education, preferably in business or applied computer science
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience as an IT Business Analyst
  • Experience with Ecom, Retail, Wholesale or Accounting applications is an asset
  • Excellent computer related and developmental skills, with the ability to learn new software
  • Solid analytical capabilities coupled with basic SQL query-writing skills
  • Strong communication skills to deliver solutions and demonstrate exceptional customer service
  • Ability to work independently and as part of the team
  • Strong organizational skills; exercises sound judgment in prioritizing work
  • Self-Confident and collaborative; presenting analysis to the team
