Description:

REQUIREMENTS

The Division provides a secure, modern ICT environment so the department can conduct its business 24/7 and focus on achieving departmental outcomes. DSD staff work collaboratively across the department, taking advantage of advances in technology, to deliver end-to-end services and solutions that are nationally consistent and deliver organizational and business benefits.
To be successful in the role requires you to have a strong work ethic including taking ownership, providing leadership and a high level of productivity. You must have suitable qualifications or training in business analysis techniques and at least 5 years’ experience working as a business analyst.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 5 years (10+ for Senior Business Analyst) work experience as a business analyst, service designer or technical writer, using various Agile techniques and methodologies.
  • Experience in facilitation and collaboration with recent examples of designing, leading, and/or facilitating workshops to ensure business requirements are captured.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high quality, concise, easy to read and relevant architecture and analysis documentation for digital services.
  • Experience working in an Agile and iterative development approach. Including backlog management, PBI development and refinement, and facilitation of various ceremonies as required.
  • (Senior Business Analyst) Demonstrated experience in the introduction, adoption, and maturing of Agile and iterative development approaches within delivery team/s.
  • (Senior Business Analyst) Experience in leading and mentoring business analysts and establishing business analyst-related standards and best practices within the delivery team/s.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Extensive experience using multiple business analysis techniques and skills from various methodologies.
  • Ability to choose and apply techniques that will provide the most value for any given situation/project.
  • Excellent creative problem-solving skills.
  • Work independently in complex situations with a pragmatic approach to allocated work, demonstrating commitment to project outcomes.
  • Experience working with Cloud platforms using technology such as Azure and/or D365.

BONUS SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working within Federal Government.
  • Experience in data analysis, modelling and/or projects related to the management of scientific and/or statistical data. Experience using Microsoft Power BI would be beneficial.
