The Opportunity
Our Collaboration team is looking to add an #EnergyProblemSolver in Calgary, AB.
We are seeking a self-driven Analyst who has knowledge and experience that will lend itself to coordinating, facilitating, planning, preparing, and delivering strategic commercial communication materials. The role offers an opportunity for the successful candidate to gain or expand on commercial experience and exposure.
The Collaboration team is a dynamic and important component of the larger Commercial team. Collaboration East is responsible for the effective and timely sharing of information with Mainline stakeholders (including customers, Industry Associations, and Governments). The team manages relationships with a large and diverse customer base, through consistent consultation and collaboration at the Tolls Task Force (TTF) Industry Forum. You will contribute to the business by prioritizing and addressing a number of industry issues in an unprecedented time of change. This role will also support other department initiatives, including the Collaboration West team.

What you’ll do

  • Work collaboratively with internal cross functional teams to develop clear and concise materials for Mainline customer meetings (including agendas, presentations, meeting notes, and talking points) that provide commercial value and reinforce key relationships
  • Maintain awareness of changes in the North American gas supply and markets impacting TC Energy’s strategy for the Mainline asset to incorporate into customer meeting materials
  • Analysis to support identification and framing of key strategic issues impacting the Mainline system
  • Provide analytic support to assist in long-term strategic planning for the Mainline system
  • Actively participate in key TC Energy priorities, such as settlement negotiations, service development, and other matters of industry importance
  • Participate and contribute to the writing and/or review of regulatory materials
  • Develop clear and concise customer agreement documents such as TTF Issues, Resolutions, trial procedures, etc.
  • Coordination and project management of external customer events, as required
  • Facilitate and/or present at industry forums, as required
  • Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a relevant bachelor’s degree (Management, Commerce, Finance, etc.)
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience
  • Some understanding of transmission pipeline customer needs
  • Some understanding of commercial terms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated business acumen – knowledge of Mainline system and/or competitive pipe services and commercial tolling
  • Strong verbal and written communicator with experience producing strategic messaging in a clear and concise manner as well as coordinating its delivery and/or presentation
  • Empathy, relationship-building and influencing ability are key, and establishment of high-value and high-trust working relationships both internally and externally
  • Able to coordinate cross-functional teams to develop, analyze and implement business opportunities
  • Ability to compile, interpret and synthesize competitive data, assess potential impacts to TC Energy assets and stakeholders
  • Ability to listen and consider the views of stakeholders, and communicate difficult and challenging messages in a courteous and respectful manner
  • Organized and proactive – anticipates problems and develops plans to address
  • Flexible thinking to adjust to changing priorities from inside and outside the company.
