Salary: £ 32.28 per week
The ISC Strathclyde is looking to expand its business team with a sessional Finance tutor. Candidates who can also teach Business subjects and or Management Science will also be of interest. You will work with the small Business team and colleagues across the Centre and on occasion across the Network to ensure the effective delivery of teaching programmes in line with our teaching, learning and assessment strategy and aims for an outstanding student experience.
As a tutor, you will be required to teach primarily and contribute to the development production and delivery of teaching and learning materials, for the centre’s lscqf level 7 and 8 Finance modules. You may also be required to deliver pre-master’s research methods or project supervision on our Business Pre-master’s programmes( SCQF 9/10).
Responsibilities include contributing directly to student support and to the development and implementation of innovative teaching practices across the Centre, as well as a commitment to CPD and keeping up-to-date with VLE technology.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the subject Lead for Business you will primarily be responsible for the design, delivery and development of modules in Finance for undergraduate levels 7 and 8 scqf. You may also be asked to cover Business modules, or Management Science modules depending on your experience, along with PMP research methods and supervision.
- Contribute to the design, delivery and development of modules offered by the International Study Centre at the University of Strathclyde
- Prepare and deliver teaching on Blended Delivery programs including synchronous and asynchronous input for pre-recorded lectures, weekly tasks, live input, seminars, and tutorial sessions, drop-ins up to a maximum of 25 contact hours per week (based on standard delivery model).
- Write and prepare module examinations, marking rubrics and other forms of formative and summative assessment.
- Mark students’ formative and summative assessment submissions and provide timely feedback to students on their performance, including during one-to-one tutorials/ LCs and through regular student reports (usually RPAGs)
- Writing additional reports for sponsored students if and when required
- Develop and update course material for modules and teaching sessions,
- Develop and maintain module VLE pages for Blended Delivery, Online Delivery (PMP) and if necessary Standard Delivery
- Work with the Centre’s administration team in the delivery of induction, orientation and registration programmes.
- Notify and liaise with colleagues, where necessary, to ensure all students receive appropriate ongoing welfare and progression support.
- Track students’ academic journey, and identify and implement appropriate intervention strategies to support ongoing learning.
- Act as a Personal Tutor/ Learning Development tutor/ Skills for Success tutor for one or more groups of students if required
- Take part in bi-termly Learning conversations with students offering progression and engagement guidance and support
- Follow centre protocol and liaise with colleagues and line manager according to procedure in particular regarding compliance processes such as class timetabling, attendance and engagement monitoring
- Implement quality assurance procedures at module and teaching session level, and contribute to the annual monitoring and review of courses.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students’ attendance and performance.
- Attend and contribute to standardisation, moderation and other quality assurance meetings.
