About the Role
The Business Architect plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and technological solutions, ensuring that the projects delivered are in alignment with the strategic goals of the organization. This position involves analysing business processes and supporting the development and implementation of the business architecture. This position ensures that the projects delivered are in alignment with the strategic goals of the organization, enhancing operational effectiveness and driving business success.

Reporting Line: Head of IT Architecture

We are seeking an experienced and versatile Solution Architect with expertise in the application layer. An Expert with experience in roles such as Technical Solution Architect, Domain Architect, Software Engineer, and more to design, build, manage, and implement enterprise solutions across various domains. The role will focus on architecting solutions within the application layer across various functional areas such as Human Resources, Work Management, Project Management, Workforce Compliance, Finance, Health and Safety, Information Management, IT Infrastructure, Artefact Management, Commercial Management, and Supply Chain Management

  • Business Architecture: Support the development and implementation of the business architecture including processes, organisation structure, governance and technical IT solutions, ensuring alignment with the strategic goals of the organisation.
  • Business Process Analysis: Lead the evaluation and analysis of current business processes and system requirements to identify areas for improvement or redesign. Lead interaction with key business stakeholders to agree on future business processes. Design processes and solutions that cater for the complexity of processes that are cross-functional.
  • Solution Design and Implementation: Develop detailed functional specifications for IT solutions, collaborate with the development and architecture team to ensure accurate implementation, and oversee the testing and deployment phases to guarantee quality outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between business units and the IT department, facilitating effective communication and ensuring that project objectives meet business needs.
  • Project Management: Support the project manager by informing project timelines, resources, and budgets, applying best practices in project management to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.

About you:

Experience required:

  • Extensive experience in a business architect role within an IT environment, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Experience working effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

Qualifications required:

  • Desirable - Certification in Business Architecture.
  • Desirable - Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, or a related field.

Competencies required:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex data and translate business needs into effective IT solutions.
  • Proficiency in project management software and methodologies, as well as business process mapping tools.
  • Knowledge of current industry trends and technologies with an ability to apply them in a practical context.
