Description:

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Business Data Scientist to improve all aspects of how we handle, manipulate, analyse and deliver data. To provide business intelligence in respect of the North American and International property portfolio to the Property Underwriting team and maintaining a reporting function acting as a go-to person that also supports those outside of the team within Chubb Global Markets.
We are a data heavy team that utilises multiple data formats across a range of platforms. Current processes are outdated and cumbersome. The role is varied with plenty of scope for creative thinking, product ownership and problem solving.

Responsibilities:

  • Turn raw data from a variety of different sources, in different formats into meaningful information that underwriters can use to improve all elements of the business. This is a creative process in which you will often have a lot of freedom and responsibility.
  • Work closely with underwriters to automate repetitive data inputting and analysis tasks and build illustrative dashboards. A strong business acumen and outgoing nature are key qualities for this work.
  • Apply machine learning theory to building predictive models and NLP tools.
  • Work with internal and external analytics teams to improve underwriting reporting, process efficiency, and integrate other systems into dashboards or similar, both from wider CGM teams and the overall Chubb network
  • Conduct in depth reviews of our current data structures and processes.
  • Take ownership for the team’s data science strategy.
  • Evaluate new and emerging technologies especially regarding the application of Generative AI.
  • Build relationships with wider data teams within Chubb.
