To strengthen our teams, we are looking for:

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience in business development and bid management within the local (ANZ/VIC or QLD) construction and engineering industry
  • Well connected with local clients and contractors
  • Strong understanding of the engineering aspects of underground engineering, and familiarity with other relevant civil engineering disciplines(geotechnical, structural, or energy/hydropower)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in communication and proposal writing Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience post Bachelor’s degree
  • This role may require travel to client and opportunity locations as needed

Responsibilities:

Business Development:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in the civil engineering sector, with a focus on underground engineering and associated civil engineering disciplines, in collaboration with the Senior Management Team, nationally but also locally in VIC or QLD.
  • Research the market to understand government funding focus, industry trends, emerging technologies, and potential clients in the target markets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, potential clients, designers and industry professionals to cultivate business opportunities.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking meetings.
  • Work closely with our technical team to ensure technical expertise and business development are aligned.

Client Management:

  • Collaborate with Senior Management Team to develop and maintain a long-term relationship with new and existing clients.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on project progress and addressing any concerns or issues.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services to existing clients.
  • Collect clients feedback and insights to enhance the company’s service offerings and improve operational efficiency.

Bid Management:

  • Monitor and identify potential bid opportunities aligning with the company’s areas of expertise.
  • Interact with the technical team to gather necessary information to develop comprehensive bid proposals.
  • Ensure that bid proposals are compliant with client requirements, industry regulations, and applicable standards.
  • Leverage local network connections to gain insights into client preferences, project requirements, and competitive landscape.
  • Lead bid presentations and negotiations, effectively communicating the company’s value proposition and addressing client concerns.
  • Maintain a database of past bids, tracking success rates, and analyzing areas for improvement.

Strategic Planning Assistance:

  • Contribute to the strategic planning of the company by providing insights and forecasts based on market trends and business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Senior Management Team to refine business strategies and goals.
