PERSON SPECIFICATION: SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills; confident in engaging with people at all levels
  • Experience of supporting and implementing impactful business plans and initiatives
  • Key account management experience is an advantage
  • Experience of a professional services environment is an advantage
  • High standard of written English, numeracy and analytical skills
  • Eager to learn and understand the business
  • Ability to work unsupervised as well as in a team
  • Hard working and enthusiastic.

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE:

This role is responsible for supporting the day to day delivery of the firm’s business development and marketing activities working closely with the different groups of patent and trade mark attorneys. Duties will include but not limited to, attending meetings, preparing business development reports, and acting as the day to day Business Development & Marketing team contact for members of the firm on initiatives and projects throughout the year as determined by the Business Development & Marketing Director.
The role is supported by a Marketing & Business Development Assistant.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help drive and support business development and profile raising activities across the firm.
  • Support and coordinate the firm’s key client and client development programmes.
  • Provide guidance on business development for fee earners attending international trips and conferences.
  • Ensure that ideas and initiatives are communicated across the firm (e.g. by providing input to meetings, intranet resources, or other internal communications) to ensure that different groups are aware of each others’ activities.
  • Provide support to the UK referrers programme as required.
  • Assist with the generation of reports to support business development meetings, practice group meetings and Executive Committee meetings as required, ensuring that appropriate and accurate data is included from Inprotech and other relevant sources.
  • Assist fee earners in the preparation of formal and informal pitches for new business ensuring best practice is followed in the pitch process and that the final proposal documentation is appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain useful materials such as general collateral, testimonials, case studies, directory materials etc.
  • Write submissions to the major legal directories, liaising with partners and attorneys ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Liaise with the firm’s PR advisers and assist where necessary with the placing of articles and with providing press comment from attorneys.
  • Planning and delivery of events.
