JOB DESCRIPTION:
The role of the Business Development Analyst EMEA is to win new business by identifying potential customers and create proposals for new clients. The Business Development Analyst EMEA is responsible for supporting the Business Development Director with all business development/sales-related activities for the Amsterdam studio. This role covers regions including Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India.
The Business Development Analyst EMEA must be able to think on their feet, adapt to changing business conditions and come to the role with a tangible business network and the ability to prove past success. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, articulate and energetic business development professional, adept at maintaining and growing a channel partner network.

The role will be entirely focused on business development, including strategy, lead generation, proposal development and associated reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Master’s Degree preferred)
- A minimum of five (7) years of relevant industry experience in business development/sales for a professional consulting services business (architectural or experiential design firm preferred)
- Extensive knowledge and relationships within key Downstream target sectors (Technology, Professional Services, Financial, Telecommunications)
- Proven track record in winning new business by selling, driving and delivering projects
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of entire sales/project lifecycle
- Ability to create a sales strategy and roadmap to achieve targets, including the Statement of Work and proposal development
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communications skills
- Strong editing and proofreading skills; strong graphic design sensibilities
- Experience working independently, as well as within cross-functional teams in a collaborative, professional environment
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision; meeting deadlines and working well under pressure, while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Proficiency in MS Office, G-Suite, Adobe Suite, Trello, Salesforces and/or other CRM tools.
- Professional level proficiency in English is required (additional languages are a bonus)
Responsibilities:
- Develop strategic senior-level client relationships that result in new and repeat business opportunities
- Develop and maintain a channel partner network. Cultivate leads and gather intelligence through the network (Downstream’s customers include large corporate customers, real estate developers, sports industry clients among others)
- Conduct research and compile information regarding existing and prospective clients, competitor activity, and industry or market trends to aid in the development of marketing plans, proposals, and presentations
- Manage commercial negotiations and craft proposals and presentations. Hands-on planning and development of strategic customised responses to RFPs and in the interview preparation
- Be a talented writer and storyteller with the ability to gather complex or technical information from various sources, to synthesize it, and to use it as the basis to craft cohesive and compelling narratives
- Work closely with the Project Management team to create and ensure the accuracy of project scopes, cost estimates and schedules
- Attend community and industry events and conferences
- Periodic travel upon request.
