JOB SUMMARY

As the Business Development director, you will be entrusted with the strategic leadership of our BD efforts and operations, a pivotal role that shapes the future of RDA’s presence in the datacentre ecosystem. To excel in this role, you must bring to the table exceptional leadership, a clear strategic vision, and the ability to transform that vision into actionable strategies in the market.
This is a full-time Business Development Director position, a first line sales manager that manages market access strategy, engagements and operations to achieve allocated sales goals. A Business Development director has a passion for serving customers, skilled at building internal and external partnerships. The candidate is a strong sales leader and coach, results driven and develops long-term strategies and shorter-term sales plans to meet revenue, market penetration and customer add growth goals.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Profit and Loss Responsibility: Assume full accountability for the Profit and Loss (P&L) of our client’s business.
  • Business Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive business strategy. Collaborate closely with various teams, including headquarter operations, human resources, finance, marketing, and product development, to align this strategy with the broader corporate vision.
  • KPI Achievement: Craft and execute business plans and strategies that drive your team toward achieving key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Commercial Strategy: Formulate and implement a robust commercial go-to-market strategy for the local business. Identify new business opportunities to further enhance our commercial success.
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and nurture a strong pipeline of prospects, fostering productive relationships at the executive level (CXO).
  • Project Delivery: Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of projects and solutions, all while complying with local laws and regulations.Regional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with regional teams to leverage their expertise and resources. When appropriate, replicate successful business models and best practices from the broader region.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCES

  • A Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in engineering or science;
  • Profit and Loss Management: Proven experience in managing Profit and Loss responsibilities for a BD/sales for a region.
  • Leadership: A track record of >5 years in leadership roles, particularly in building and leading market access and expansion and new venture building.
  • B2B SaaS experience in datacentre Industry: Prior experience in enterprise sales, accounts, or operations within the datacentre industry.
  • Industry Connections: Strong connections in the datacentre industry, are preferred.
  • Startup Experience: Preference for candidates with experience in scaling start-ups or mid-sized tech/product-based companies.
  • Commercial Acumen: Experience in driving commercial go-to-market strategies to identify and capitalise on new business opportunities.
  • Project Tools: Proficiency in using sales tools such as CRM, Pipedrive, and Salesforce.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Resilience: Persistence, resilience, and the ability to thrive under pressure. A strong motivator with the capacity to lead teams through both challenging and prosperous times.Stakeholder Influence: Ability to effectively communicate ideas to various stakeholders and influence them to make decisions that align with overall market objectives.
