Description:

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE SOUGHT:

  • Able to generate >£50m new business annually
  • Build and maintain a portfolio of c30 – 40 projects / customers
  • Interest in and knowledge of structured finance and commercial property market
  • Proven banking knowledge and lending skills
  • Possess a current database of clients and brokers
  • Appreciation of legal matters likely to affect property development in a lending context

Responsibilities:

ROLE PURPOSE:

To generate and protect profits by developing and transacting new structured finance business and ensuring that risks are mitigated by the efficient structuring, management and control of the resultant loan portfolio and associated activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

New Business

  • Liaising with Head of Department – Structured Finance and sales staff from other divisions, to generate and implement marketing and sales plans, including direct contact with potential customers, professional intermediaries, brokers etc.
  • Analyse, negotiate and structure proposals so that you may recommend them to Credit Committee for approval
  • Progress sanctioned proposals to drawdown with the help of the team’s underwriting, credit and completions team

Customers/Intermediaries

  • Generate business through the Bank’s methods and own initiatives
  • Maintain contact through meetings and client / site visits
  • Encourage flow of renewal business where appropriate
  • Maintain efficient and professional service, and good customer/banker relationship

Portfolio Management

  • Responsibility for ongoing relationship and risk management
  • Identification of risk situations and control of overdue loans
  • Ensuring the timely conduct of loan reviews
  • Liaison with Directors and/or Credit Committee, as appropriate

Security Perfection & Maintenance

  • Close liaison with clients, solicitors, valuers and other professional advisers
  • Monitoring adherence to loan offer terms
  • Ensuring that security valuations and reports on title comply with the bank’s procedures and following up promptly any matters which do not meet the required standards
  • General liaison with customers to resolve any issues outstanding and requiring attention

General Matters

  • Efficient and accurate ongoing loan filing
  • Guide, monitor, assist and train as necessary
  • Any other matters required to be done to assist in the achievement of the Bank’s budget and business development plans, including any personal allocated performance objectives
  • Credit and Administration tasks as required, to contribute to the effective and efficient operation of the Structured Finance Division
