Purpose
As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for providing strategic sales support to General Managers across our South Australian region. You will develop new business opportunities through business development practices, relationships and proactive sales initiatives. The position will identify revenue opportunities and undertake direct sales activity to convert business.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across the South Australian region for Accor Apartments & Realty
  • Follow-up and pass on leads to the relevant account management team (A&R or National)
  • Creation of local account footprint for hotels within South Australia
  • Understand the key revenue drivers for the region as well as identify distressed properties regionally and undertake sales call of regional accounts as required maximizing the revenue outcome, all sales calls must be undertaken within a defined sales territory
  • Increase the level of sales and business mix form individual clients, maximizing on every opportunity across all markets
  • Pro-active sales focus to maximize leads & opportunities for business
  • Research and define new revenue generating niche markets
  • Maintain a current and accurate knowledge of competitor products, be able to highlight their disadvantages and promote relevant benefits
  • Establish a high profile across the region and with key accounts
  • Liaise with all regional tourism bodies from the region as the secondary point of sales & marketing contact
  • Provide Regional Director of Performance and/or Director of Sales with a monthly schedule of planned activities including pipeline business being targeted within region
  • Provide any client feedback/comments relating to product to relevant General Manager and Regional Director of Performance

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Business or similar preferred
  • 3+ years experience in a proactive sales role within a similar environment
  • Evidenced conversion track record
  • Experience in the hospitality/hotel/travel industry is high desirable.
