Based in our Sydney Officewe are looking for aBusiness Development Manager to join our BD Team due to an internal promotion. This is the perfect role for a BD all-rounder including client management, sector leadership, dynamic practice, work closely with Partner groups and a genuine opportunity to make a difference and be heard.
Skills And Experience
- Over three years’ business development experience within a professional services organisation.
- Qualifications in a relevant field (i.e. commerce, marketing, law).
- Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills.
- The energy and passion to drive new business initiatives, influence partners, and deliver and analyse a range of data and information sources.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to build rapport and relationships.
- A consultative, proactive, pragmatic, team orientated style.
- A commercial and open mindset with the ability to identify the strengths and weaknesses of new opportunities and alternative solutions.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities under pressure and to tight timeframes - always with a cheery, calm and professional manner.
- The ability to influence, persuade and negotiate with a diverse range of people - and to build relationships with key stakeholders based around Australia and in APAC / the global network.
- Strong tender management skills.
- Hands-on experience in planning client events and workshops, with high client contact across all levels, including senior management.
- Business acumen and able to understand drivers of the firm’s business
Responsibilities:
- Driving and executing on BD initiatives in consultation with fee earners.
- Identifying client/new work opportunities, emerging product and service areas and working with other stakeholders to pursue these.
- Understand and engage with relevant markets, industry sectors and clients, and identify trends and business development opportunities aligned with the firm’s offering.
- Identify and execute on strategic business development initiatives that align with the global firm strategy including awareness training, profile raising, and collaboration projects.
- Leading on the content and project management of bids, pitches, tenders, capability statements, legal directory / league tables and award submissions including reviewing and communicating client requirements and deadlines and acquiring, drafting and editing content.
- Assisting with compiling and drafting Australian content for global and regional marketing collateral, bids / tenders and similar.
