Job Description
SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE: The Business Development Manager promotes the company’s forensic consulting services within an assigned geography. This role will build and maintain strong relationships, cross-sell services, and drive revenue growth and profitability through direct sales efforts. The Business Development Manager will collaborate with technical manager(s) and experts within the assigned geography to execute sales strategy and client events.

Required Skills/Abilities/Experience:

  • 3+ years of related sales experience in the insurance industry.
  • Effectively interact with a broad scope of internal and external stakeholders in the company’s and customer’s best interest.
  • Commitment to working as a collaborative team member.
  • Demonstrate strategic sales skills through proven record of success and achieving goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Sound written and oral communication skills, problem-solving and critical thinking skills, especially as applied to meeting both customer and operational needs.
  • Performs duties timely and with a keen focus on maximizing return on investment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM software

Preferred Skills/Abilities/Experience:

  • Existing client relationships within the assigned geography.
  • Membership in local insurance related associations/organizations

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience acceptable.
  • Above duties, skills, and responsibilities may be added, decreased, or changed to accommodate the company’s requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes geographic strategy with a primary emphasis on commercially focused insurers, adjusters, and attorneys.
  • Develops account management process to penetrate accounts, deepen relationships, and increase revenue and profitability.
  • Builds and maintains strong client relationships to effectively sell all services and swiftly address customer inquiries.
  • Works with Technical Manager(s) to identify potential client/expert relationship opportunities.
  • Maximizes growth through innovative marketing strategies, events, and Continuing Education training opportunities.
  • Serves as a coach to expert teams on sales related skills and tools.
  • Liaises with Marketing department to promote experts and service capabilities.
  • Tracks all activity within CRM and acts as the contact/account data owner within assigned geography.
  • Stays abreast of office and company policies, procedures, and practices; participates in ongoing training and development as assigned or approved to assure knowledge and skills remain current and comprehensive.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
