Description:

The Functional Ingredients & Solutions business unit services the food industry and develops new innovations together with the customers to create new opportunities. The Business Development Manager will be part of, and contributing to The Functional Ingredients & Solutions business unit and reporting into the Sr. Business Development Director APAC. The Business Development Manager will work together in a team that is responsible for implementing new value propositions in line with the chosen strategy in Natural Food Preservation (Micro & Oxidation). Close collaboration with R&D, Innovation, Sales & Customers is expected.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Preferably a Master degree of Food Science in Microbiology, Chemistry or equivalent
  • Minimally 8-12 years’ experience in the food (ingredient) industry, combined with significant exposure to savory segments such as Meat, Prepared Foods, Sauces, etc.
  • Ability to smoothly operate between the technical and commercial side of the business
  • Excellent interpersonal communications with the ability to use tact and diplomacy while balancing working together in cross functional project teams with commitment to realize the objective.
  • Must be a self-motivated and an accountable team player;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Ability & willingness to travel > 35%

Responsibilities:

  • Develop & Implement new value propositions in the APAC market.
  • Lead the testing, validating and showing commercial viability of new propositions/food solutions in line with the strategic direction
  • Implementing the newly proven food solutions in the APAC sales organization.
  • Work together with the technical & application team/lab to train the sales team to assure embedding the new products & value propositions in the sales team.
  • Lead, manage and participate in innovation projects, with the objective to develop new products and/or markets for the APAC region
  • Scout and identify new opportunities in the APAC region in line with the chosen strategy
  • Participate & manage projects with key accounts in collaboration with the APAC Sales organization
