As a member of our Sales Team, your diverse role as an Business Development Manager is vital to servicing and meeting the needs of our customers. The Business Development Manager ensures that there is a high level of customer service satisfaction among all of their accounts, encouraging growth in the number of commodities purchased by the majority of accounts.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Fresh produce knowledge and industry experience preferred
  • Solid knowledge of sales and logistics functions
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Good interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
  • Solid data analysis and reporting skills and proficiency in MS Office
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare an annual personal sales budget plan along with updated quarterly forecasts for their selected group of accounts, including seeking strategic sales opportunities
  • Service accounts by establishing positive relationships with key decision-makers and demonstrating strong follow-through on commitments
  • Source new accounts through a disciplined sales approach by identifying qualified leads, evaluating their position in the market, etc.
  • Negotiate price with accounts by having a keen awareness of market pricing, supply, and quality of produce items at all times (to protect the dynamics between both margins and volume sales)
  • Provide tactical assistance for cross-selling produce item opportunities with other members of the team
  • Assist other Account or Business Development Managers with their accounts during their vacations and other absences
  • Meet monthly sales targets by accomplishing the above sales activities
  • Assist Accounting in seeking credit approval on new accounts along with credit monitoring for the roster of accounts (ensuring accounts are all within terms)
  • Conduct customer visitations on a regular basis to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Provide weekly progress report to the Sales Manager
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
