Our award-winning office products seating, sit/stand desks, technology support and lighting have led the industry in performance and simplicity for 40 years.OverviewThe Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and driving new business opportunities through four main functions; ensure effective relationship management of existing clients, seek and onboard new clients and new business, facilitate/attend networking events and coordinate communications around key projects. They are responsible for generating new business opportunities in their territory actively targeting end-users, designers, project managers, quantity surveyors and other professional consultants. The BDM is responsible for
educating their target audience on the products and services that Humanscale offer.

Responsibilities

  • Educating, marketing, and selling the value of ergonomic workplace solutions to end-users, designers, partners, project managers, quantity surveyors and other professional consultants such as ergonomists and occupational health professionals.
  • Always maintain appropriate networking activity levels; minimum 10 high level client appointments per week.
  • Develop a business plan with management for weekly, monthly, and quarterly strategic objectives.
  • Facilitate networking activities, events, introductory meetings for prospective clients.
  • Identify and present relevant differentiators, added value components and unique opportunities for successful project positioning of Humanscale.
  • Seek out, comprehend, and effectively communicate key client motivating factors, the key triggers that cause them to choose Humanscale over our competitors.
  • Utilize internal resources to increase the likelihood of Humanscale securing the business. Available resources include CEO, President, Managing Director, Regional Director, Sustainability Ambassadors through to Product Managers.
  • Represent Humanscale at professional networking events
  • Complete networking activity & new business reports, as well as maintaining customer contact database.
  • Organize and execute high level networking events to raise the profile and awareness of Humanscale as the market leaders.
  • Coordinate the activity around all your key projects and ensure that communication and collaboration is maintained amongst the sales team.
  • Have a strong understanding of all Humanscale’s products and consulting services.

Qualifications

  • Candidate will have 5+ years business sales experience successfully specifying projects and selling to large corporate clients
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent sales experience preferred
  • Successful track record of planning and execution
  • Working knowledge of MS OFFICE and associated applications are required ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge and/or experience in office furniture or related industry, a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal
  • Skillful negotiation and presentation abilities
