Within Corbion, the Algae Ingredients (AI) division develops new applications and markets for food and feed ingredients and nutrients. We have a range of products that deliver breakthrough innovations for human and animal nutrition by offering cost-efficient, sustainable, safe and clean algae oils, fats, proteins and nutrients.
We have an opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager who will take responsibility for developing and executing the business development plan and projects with support of sales and other functions.
The Business Development Manager Animal Nutrition – Algae Ingredients will report directly to the Business Director Animal Nutrition and will closely collaborate with product management, supply chain and marketing to translate the market needs into product solutions.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for an experienced international B2B Business Development Manager with experience in the Animal nutrition space. In addition, you meet the following criteria:

  • At least 10 years of experience in International B2B raw material or ingredient sales with a sustainability value proposition and key account management elements.
  • Strong affinity with the assigned business segments, especially with Pet food and Terrestrials
  • A business degree and/or a scientific degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Animal Husbandry, Zoology or equivalent knowledge by experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Translate the Algae Ingredients strategy into a business development plan for the assigned segments and execute the plan
  • Build and manage a pipeline of opportunities to materialize on the business objectives with support of the sales team
  • In cooperation with product management set up and execute pricing strategies.
  • Identify sustainable market opportunities to further develop the business.
  • Translate customer needs to products and solutions in close cooperation with product management and R&D.
  • Drive and support new product launches
  • For selected break-through accounts act as sales/key account manager to start the business.
  • Work together with Marketing and regional sales managers to implement marketing communication to drive business development
  • Gather market and competitive information to support the regional and global strategy.
  • Develop and roll out route to market for new segments/territories
  • Build strong relations with key opinion leaders, key customers and distributors
  • Work together with the technical & application team to train sales on the technical aspects, features, applicability and functionality of the NEW differentiated solutions and tools
