ABOUT THE ROLE
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join our Business Development, Communications and Marketing (BCM) team in Melbourne. Our BCM team is helping to continue to drive Maddocks success moving forward, and is continuing our growth story for clients. This role will work closely with our Victorian State Government portfolio in developing, implementing and driving BD initiatives.
Working with a highly energised team, we offer flexible working arrangements, significant support in terms of BD tools to help you succeed in the role, and the promise of a real “seat at the table” in terms of strategy and direction of the practice. Reporting to the Head of Government, Business Development, this role will play a key part in enhancing our relationship with our clients by taking a creative approach to client service, bid processes and innovation in business development.
In order to be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:
- 3+ years’ experience working in a similar role within a legal services environment
- Proven experience in developing a pro-active and strategic BD sector and client strategy for practice teams and sectors.
- Results focused with experience liaising, coaching and influencing partner and senior lawyers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills alongside strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Be an effective team-player and have highly developed interpersonal skills including confidence, diplomacy and ability to gain credibility quickly.
- Proven track record in delivering operational excellence and using data to drive decision making.
- Be committed to championing innovation and best practice in client service and thought leadership
