REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Tertiary qualification in business admin, sales, hotel management will be highly regarded.
  • 3+ year’s previous experience in sales within a similar role.
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills with a thoughtful & dynamic personality.
  • Outstanding personal presentation and networking capabilities.
  • Proven success in meeting sales targets.
  • Self-motivated with strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Existing and strong established contacts within the Brisbane marketplace, or the ability to quickly establish relationships.
  • Excellent client management and relationship development skills.
  • Strong financial understanding of sales reporting, budgets and forecasting.
  • Ability to plan, implement and execute business development plans.
  • High-level industry knowledge and understanding of market trends and competitors.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

Marriott International is seeking a thoughtful and dynamic BDM to join our family at the worldly Brisbane Marriott Hotel.
Through your passion for client relationships and motivation for sales, you will seek new business proactively, spending time face to face with clients, and speaking to them on the phone.
You will be responsible for multiple market lead generation in Groups, Corporate and the Catering segments converting to sales, and maximising revenue.
The ideal candidate will be professional and use their knowledge and experience of the hotel, our spaces, and our brand to spark new business and inspire brilliance in our clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attract new business within a range of corporate industries and market sectors via various proactive activities including, but not limited to: sales calls, face to face presentations, trade shows, hosting clients, attending networking and business related events and retaining clients through relationship management.
  • Ensure the hotel maintains its strong positioning within the corporate market.
  • Manage and respond to all enquiries and communicate with the Conference & Events team for proposal and contract generation.
  • Ensure a high level of communication, both internally and externally.
  • Develop, execute and review a progressive business development plan to achieve sales targets.
  • Continuously review of the corporate marketplace, competitor analysis and industry trends.
  • Effectively and professionally conduct site inspections.
  • Produce weekly revenue and activity reporting.
  • Attend and actively participate in weekly sales team meetings.
