Description:
I have an opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join a client of mine who is a specialist supplier to the rolling stock market based in Derby, providing bespoke services including repair and overhaul of vehicle structures and train components.
This role will include Business Development and New Sales Account Management, you will have the primary responsibility for driving new sales into the company, from both existing and new customers.
You will be expected to understand and interpret the sales and competitor environment and trends in order for the company to succeed.
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER:
- Provide marketing insights and drive the execution of new initiatives.
- Support the development of client acquisition strategies and plans.
- Develop relevant customer accounts in line with targets set.
- Support the development of a CRM system utilising eFax ERP system.
- Agree annual gross margin target, in £, for each relevant client.
- Gain and maintain a high level of understanding the client expectations and deliverables.
- Maintain good working relationships with relevant clients and contacts.
- Attend relevant conferences and trade events as appropriate and as requested.
- Liaise closely with engineering and take responsibility to drive timely proposals back to the customer.
- Rn sales forecasting and analysis of any variances to budget.
- Assist and support with all marketing initiative including liaison with marketing support.
- Customer reporting, analysis and trend reports to be created and provided as requested.
Experience required for this Business Development Manager: Qualified by experience within a similar role - ideally 5+ years
Technical understanding of the rail industry - desirable
Capability to read, interpret and challenge client terms and conditions.
- Proven negotiating skills.
- Experience of bringing on new clients, account management and increasing sales.
- Self-motivated and results driven.
- Capable of working autonomously and managing your own diary efficiently.
- Drives licence.
