Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for increasing Share of Wallet (SOW) by identifying and developing new opportunities of the highest potential across all channels and platforms from established territories. This role will have meaningful, productive conversations with Playbook customers and introduce them to Ritchie Bros. platform of solutions. BDM’s generate demand primarily via face-to-face meetings, calls, and outbound emails. Once acquiring new accounts, the BDM will transition the accounts to Account Managers (AM) or Inside Sales.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years’ experience in quota-driven sales (Industry experience/knowledge preferred)
  • Ability to articulate solutions in the customer’s language (i.e., equipment type, platform need)
  • Knowledge and experience with CRM, preferably Salesforce
  • Proven experience in a Business Development – Hunter role driving sales in a territory
  • Experience with large groups at the corporate and customer level
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Highly self-motivated & action-oriented
  • Desire to win, bring a high level of passion to the customer base, and resilience to bounce back from setbacks or rejection

Responsibilities:

  • Use in-depth knowledge of Ritchie Bros. selling solutions and services to acquire new business or revive relationships with consignors who have not done business within the last 3 years
  • Hit and exceed quarterly and annual targets by hunting new business in assigned geographic territories
  • Manage pipeline of opportunities in Salesforce including generation of accurate forecasts and attainment of assigned targets
  • Prepare presentations and proposals and convert new customers into annual contracts
  • Responsible for Core Activities and Behaviors (CABS) goal attainment
  • Partner with AM to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of care
