Description:
Synopsis
Our client is looking for a Business Development Manager with speciality chemical/distribution background to grow the company’s sales in South Africa by acquiring new distributors and launching new products. You will achieve this by researching potential partners, managing the launch process, and supporting the sales team. You will be reporting to the General Manager.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Acquiring new distributorship in terms of portfolio extension.
- Research, identify, and develop potential new Principals for OISA and prioritise those to target in-line with the Company’s business objectives and strategy.
- Planning the launch of new products/distributorships in SA in accordance with Business Development procedures and ensure the effective hand-over of new Principals to the Sales team.
- Assisting, coordinating and supporting the sales team with the introduction of new principals into other countries and regions.
- Manage product launches and withdrawals with the sales team.
- Managing, coordinating and supporting all distribution business related contracts and ensure compliance.
- Obtaining and maintaining all information needed for Sustainability to assess and ensure product regulation and compliance.
- Monitor and review inventory with the sales team.
- Obtain and maintain certificates for the Quality system (ISO standards etc.), as well as up to date technical data sheets for Sales.

- Be in the possession of a Chemical qualification and background.
- A proven sales track record in SA chemical/distribution industry.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, with excellent interpersonal, negotiation & leadership skills.
- Good knowledge of the markets in which OISA operates i.e., Polymer, Paints, Coatings, Chemical manufacturing, and Distribution.
- Experience leading a team.
- Experience maintaining and attaining certificates for the Quality system.
- Willing to travel in South Africa.
- Proficiency with MS Office Tools.
