What to Expect
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for increasing vehicle sales to B2B customers in Australia and New Zealand by acquiring new accounts. You will closely collaborate with the Key Account Management team and hand over onboarded customer accounts that will yield deliveries within an agreed period. This extends to formalizing our commercial terms with corporate, government and fleet leasing companies. Whilst not your core responsibility, you will collaborate with colleagues in our other business channels given Tesla’s vertically integrated renewable energy ecosystem in order drive revenue streams. Our ultimate goal is to cement our position as a preferred OEM and build long term sustainable relationships with our customers.

What You’ll Do

  • Actively partner with the Regional Enterprise Sales Manager to develop a cohesive strategy for the growth of B2B vehicle sales within Australia and New Zealand.
  • Meet quarterly sales objectives by driving new account creation, deliverable orders, scheduling sales meetings, and making the best use of available assets (e.g., vehicles for test drives) as well as driving strong ASP performance with clients and ensure timely payments for existing products and services.
  • Keep regular contact cadence with all active customers and follow the desired sales motion through the qualification and negotiation stages.
  • Drive repeat business on renewal cycles working with leasing companies on end of lease reports to identify new targets to expand current accounts.
  • Work closely with your counterpart Key Account Managers to enable multiparty relationships and triangular partnerships to achieve our desired objectives.
  • Meet sales objectives by driving new orders across client types, driving down delivery dwell, and enabling strong performance with clients to ensure timely payments for existing products and services
  • Collaborate with Marketing colleagues aimed at generating new enquiries and positioning Tesla’s brand to fleet buyers.
  • Support the Quarterly ordering and forecasting process and participate in demand planning meetings with Sales and Delivery Ops.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive product knowledge in respect of all vehicles, processes, and business finance solutions.
  • Conduct competitor analysis on a regular basis and share feedback and insights as they present as well as proactive respond to keep Tesla as their preferred choice.
  • Actively collaborate with other Tesla sales teams to achieve our collective goals.
  • Use Tesla’s Customer Relation Management system and tools to log appointments, calls, test drives, contacts and meeting notes.
  • Participate in and host test drive events and attend industry conferences and the likes to represent Tesla and seek out new business opportunities.
  • Leverage existing leasing company relationships to grow sales within this segment.
  • Respond to RFP’s and work on multinational opportunities with other Regional B2B Leaders.
  • Establish an excellent operating framework, including management of contractual agreements, digital tools adoption, ownership management, and escalation handling with these customers

What You’ll Bring

  • Demonstrated track record in business and government sales with evidence of being able to close large complex transactions.
  • Evidence of building a strong pipeline and continuously fill top of funnel with new opportunities.
  • Proficient experience in Business-to- Business or commercial sales with proven track record of meeting and exceeding targets and goals. Ability to communicate relevant information to all levels of the organization.
  • Passionate dedication and ethical approach to sales management and operations.
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships and act as a well-respected, trusted partner that others want to work with.
  • Excellent relationship management and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Solid knowledge of business appropriate financial and taxation options and incentives.
  • Strong administrative skills when it comes to Customer Relationship Management and attention to detail.
  • Highly competent with record keeping, organizational skills and familiar with working in complex corporate environments.
  • Be able to navigate complex Government topics relating to contract performance, privacy and compliance.
