We are looking for an excited Business Development Manager (Electrical & Automation) to join our business development team at Wärtsilä Energy Upgrades. Your main task will be to promote and sell electrical & automation upgrades to our existing customers in the AMER area.
We expect you to have a good understanding of the power business, a good techno-commercial understanding and an in-depth understanding of electrical and automation solutions.

Responsibilities:

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Your main responsibility will be to sell electrical & automation upgrades for Wärtsilä power plant installations, mainly in the AMER area, by uncovering our customers’ needs and expectations
  • You will act as the Opportunity Leader and lead the Opportunity Team dedicated to more complex E&A business cases and ensure that internal processes and guidelines are followed
  • You are responsible for defining the content and scope of the proposals, based on discussions with Wärtsilä experts, network offices and customers
  • You are responsible for making the cost calculations, defining the scope of supply, and creating the technical specification and project (indicative) time schedules for the offers
  • You will lead the contract negotiations with the customers to ensure that high-quality deals are signed
  • You will work closely with the experts within our business unit, the regions, the product management teams and our sub-suppliers

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, WE EXPECT YOU TO HAVE:

  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Electrical/Automation Engineering or similar
  • Solid experience in Electrical & Automation solutions
  • Business development/sales mindset
  • Leadership skills with a strong focus on teamwork
  • Commercial and legal understanding of contracts
  • Well-organized and goal-oriented team player
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Other languages are seen as advantages
  • Ability to travel as required
