EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Travel and Tourism diploma or bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in the travel trade, retail and wholesale business
  • Exceptional consultative sales experience
  • Experience with GDS, Sirev and Tour Operator (ITC) product knowledge
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills required
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, goal orientated, and relationship building skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to present ideas, negotiate, facilitate and problem solve
  • Ability to travel
  • Team player – works to ensure team goals are met or exceeded
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Bilingual French/English is considered a strong asset

Responsibilities:

WestJet is seeking a Business Development Representative based in Vancouver, British Columbia. This individual will exhibit a high standard of excellence, enjoys challenges, and is results driven. The incumbent must be highly motivated and demonstrate the ability to work in an agile environment.
Reporting into the Manager, Leisure Sales, the Business Development Representative role will also provide support to Key Account Managers and our strategic contracted partners, endorsing business plans and strategy while representing WestJet Vacations to our Travel Trade Partners. They will provide education, training and promotions encompassing all WestJet Vacations products and systems. This role will increase WestJet Vacations marketplace awareness, grow market share, and increase revenues.
