Job Title: Business Development Partner Team Leader
Reports to: Global BDP Leader
Location: Milton Keynes/Remote

Overview / Purpose of the position:

  • Reporting to the Global BDP Leader and working closely with key stakeholders, namely the commercial and delivery teams.
  • Responsibility for the line management of the UK/EMEA BDP team and all of their sales support activities to the Regulatory Services/Medical Devices Business Development Teams.
  • Responsibility for leading the development, configuration, implementation and management of sales support processes.
  • Accountability for oversight of sales support activities, client service and management of assigned BDP Team.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Provision of line management duties for all assigned BDPs
  • To manage, monitor and support in the training of the BDPs
  • To act as coach and mentor for the team, reviewing training needs and identify skills development requirements as needed
  • To work with BDP team to agree, plan, implement and monitor quality of work and key performance indicators
  • To communicate effectively with all team members and support team members to ensure the smooth running of sales process in compliance with BSI procedures
  • To ensure the BDPs receive, prioritise and process sales quote requests received from the business development team and associated commercial requests within agreed SLA’s
  • Work with the business development team and delivery team to improve the service provided to clients and effectively handle client associated queries
  • Adopt a collaborative team approach to working within own group and other teams/functions within the department and other areas of the business
  • Drive to improve existing processes, develop, implement and manage new processes to improve efficiency
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with all key internal and external stakeholder
  • Develop deep understanding of the complexity of the business and its individual business areas
  • Proactively lead solving problem initiatives as required
  • Build an in-depth understanding of client business needs and drivers
  • Undertake specific project work as required
  • Provide support to the management team as required
  • Any other duties which can reasonably be expected within the scope of this role

Key Success / Performance Indicators:

  • Ownership and resolution of problems to satisfaction of external and internal clients
  • Ensuring a high degree of accuracy of data in Salesforce and other systems
  • Quality of service provided to internal and external clients (as per KPI measures)
  • Efficient management of sales quotes from RS Business Development team and associated commercial requests from clients
  • Collaborative interface with Commercial and Delivery Teams

  • Proven track record of leadership and/or line management of staff
  • Ability to coach and effectively develop talented individuals and to address under performance

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, internally and externally and at all levels
  • Be able to demonstrate your experience of supporting a commercial team with administrative tasks
  • Have experience using a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software to complete tasks e.g. Salesforce
  • Potential to grow with the developing business and take on wider roles and responsibilities
  • Be resilient when under pressure and have a solution orientated mindset
