What You’ll Do
This exciting role requires you to work hand in hand with the Marketing & Sales teams to prospect and generate high quality leads across various industries, with a goal to schedule meetings for your sales reps and help contribute to the close of business. As a Business Development Representative (BDR) you will have an amazing opportunity to be part of the ‘engine room’ for generating business for the entire sales team. You will work with multiple departments to set up the sales team for success while playing a key role in developing success for Mimecast in the region. Success within the BDR team will give you the opportunity to progress into a great career in the many internal roles you will come into contact with throughout your journey with us. As well as learn key strategies and skills to set up your professional career

What You’ll Bring

  • Prospecting and taking queries from potential clients with the overall goal of generating & maturing leads to be passed off to your sales partner
  • Screening and qualifying potential business through external methods
  • Monitoring online forums to answer any customer queries
  • Identifying and overcoming objections whilst addressing business pain points through high activity
  • Effective use of Salesforce and various in-house tools to manage your leads
  • Ability to ‘think outside the square’ and generate your own leads
  • Speaking directly with end customers/prospects and articulating the benefits
  • Attending marketing events (road shows, conferences) to build meaningful relationships and scope potential opportunities

Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is hard-working by nature, determined, persistent and will thrive in an organisation where

excellence is the norm. You will have:

  • Previous customer service experience
  • Previous sales or lead gen experience (not essential, but favorable)
  • Accountability to get the job done and work as part of a team
  • Great rapport building & communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • A drive and determination to succeed with a resilient nature
  • A previous track record to go above and beyond to exceed targets and KPIs (favourable)
  • Excellent phone skills and be able to drive the conversation
  • Interest in SaaS/ IT / Cyber Security

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience managing customer facing implementations of 3rd party SaaS and IT services
  • Experience with Microsoft, Google Apps or other email platforms
  • Deep understanding of internet fundamentals, DNS, network routing, firewalls and email delivery
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory or other email platforms
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that can be used to explain complex technical topics in a clear and straight forward manner
  • Detail oriented individual that enjoys working with customers and the challenge of technical troubleshooting
