BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST
Our team in Pomona, Johannesburg currently has an opening for a Business Development Specialist-Food & Nutrition
Brenntag SA is looking for an experienced Business Development/Technical Sales Specialist for the Food and Nutrition business unit with experience in Savoury applications. The Bus Dev Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships within the Food and Nutrition industry. This position drives sales growth by creating selling strategies to grow market share in each relevant product and service offering, develops and leverages relationships with clients, and provides excellent customer service and technical expertise as required. The territory is South Africa.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical support for sales team and customers
Manage projects at customers within key focus sectors
Assist in the development of supplier products within SA and neighboring countries where relevant.
Ability to work independently and/or within team dynamic within the Innovation & Application Centre (Pomona)
Improve organisation’s market position in Savoury applications
Maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions and competitors i.e. Research the competition and the markets, and customers to stay abreast of competitors, developments in competitive products, and changes in the market. Share information with sales team as necessary
Assist in updating market surveys for key development principals
Identify new business opportunities for our principals as well as functional solutions in savoury applications.
Participate in setting pricing solutions, with proposal/quote development
Attend industry events (meetings, seminars and conferences) with an aim in maintaining and growing knowledge base
Identify opportunities for campaigns, fairs, services and distribution channels that will increase sales
Adhere to Company Standard Operating Procedures & Policies at all times.
Adhere to company Health and Safety procedures and report any incidents to the Health and Safety Representative in your department, or the site Safety Officer.
