Description:

RadiFi Credit Union (formerly Jax Federal Credit Union) is seeking a Business Development Specialist to be responsible for establishing and maintaining auto dealer and other business relationships to maintain and grow the credit union’s indirect, merchant lending program, and realtor network volume. This position will ensure our auto dealer partners follow our program guidelines and quickly communicate any rate or other program changes. He/she will also coordinate with our underwriters to ensure quick responses and fast funding, along with being a subject matter expert for consumer, mortgage and indirect loans. Monitor and provide a variety of monthly reports.
This position will also partner with local businesses to enable them to offer accessible and fair financing at their point-of-sale to drive loan volume and membership growth. RadiFi’s technology and merchant loan program empowers businesses and contractors to quickly and easily offer competitive financing rates to their customers.
Responsible for growth goals in generating new revenue opportunities in and around assigned market with an emphasis on outbound sales development focused on auto dealers, realtors and other business that could benefit from our indirect merchant lending services. At times, he/she may make joint calls with our credit union lending managers, wealth solution advisor, and the business services team members to introduce and sell these other services to benefit the members and our community.
Business networking including after-hours networking with local business organizations is required.
This position requires 75% of time spent out in the assigned business market and approximately 25% of time in office.
Status: Full-time (Approximately 40 hours per week)
Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Identify and assess business development opportunities in the greater Jacksonville area and designated markets for new indirect auto and merchant lending.

Make introductions and at times coordinate correspondence between the auto dealers, merchants, and our underwriting team to quickly resolve questions regarding application information.

Investigate best practices for building successful business development and indirect and merchant lending programs. Make recommendations to management and serve as a subject matter expert.

Build relationships with community leaders, employers and city officials in designated markets that align with the Credit Union’s expansion strategy.

Actively participates in community, sales & business development initiatives. Drives new business relationships to grow partners, membership, deposit and loan growth through active business development activities and achieve assigned growth goals.

Build relationships with key business leaders by attending chambers of commerce events and conducting outreach to businesses operating in our communities. Utilizing various channels, including networking events, conferences, and digital platforms, prospect and engage target businesses.

Lead, participate, organize, drive, and execute business development events to increase awareness of the organization’s brand and sharing the benefits of being a RadiFi member.

Partners with other lines of credit union business leaders to make joint calls and refer business to cross-sell, grow membership and deepen relationships.

Assist in identifying additional emerging markets for future expansion opportunities.

Maintain contact with dealerships and merchants by phone weekly and in person at least once per quarter. In coordination with underwriting, follow up with dealers on approved applications and provide feedback to management for tracking purposes.

Partner with local realtors for participation in the RadiFi realtor WaveLink network.

Provides appropriate internal reporting on new business partner relationships, prospect business lists, indirect dealer contact lists, new member growth, production volume, sales & business Development efforts and other reporting.

Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Review new laws and regulations that influence indirect lending and business partner relationships within the financial institution; makes recommendations to management when necessary.
Knowledge and Skills
Experience:
Three to Five years of similar of related experience with emphasis in consumer, mortgage, and indirect lending. Significant outside sales & business development experience required. Proven ability to generate new business, acquire new members, and enhance existing external relationships required. Must feel comfortable making cold calls. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal). Must possess a professional demeanor and project a professional image while representing the Credit Union. Ability to maintain confidentiality and conduct oneself with a high level of diplomacy and tact. Must have reliable transportation.
Education/Certifications/Licenses:
A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Interpersonal Skills:
A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.
Other Skills:
Ability to operate independently in a sales-oriented environment. Must demonstrate a functional knowledge of secondary guidelines, CFPB lending requirements (TRID, ATR, & QM), the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other federal laws, including but not limited to: U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act. Knowledge of issues relating to mortgage and member business lending. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Computer Skills: Requires intermediate level proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite & with loan origination system programs be demonstrated.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk to hear. The associate is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate must occasionally lift/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
