Responsibilities:

PRIMARY PURPOSE

The purpose of this role is to identify business improvement opportunities for all business units and related third parties particularly where they apply to process related opportunities and provide the business with solutions in process and/or technology initiatives and manage the implementation and delivery of business improvement projects. The alignment of processes to a national approach is a particular focus.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Elicit business improvement opportunities using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, tasks and workflow analysis.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
  • Provide operational support for existing application systems. This may include analysing systems and data; monitoring systems performance; diagnosing problems and resolving these with users; making appropriate changes to documentation.
  • Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.
  • Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into business processes.
  • Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams.
  • Lead cross-functional business process re-engineering teams and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Evaluate potential software solutions, including off-the-shelf and open-source components, and the system architecture to ensure that they meet business requirements.
  • Educate the business units on how to take an improvement lens in their daily work and change/project requests.
  • Manage individual business improvement projects end-to-end, including planning, implementation and delivery.
  • Conducting training workshops for process changes
  • Implementing a culture of change management and critical thinking in evaluation and decision making
  • Participate in system and acceptance testing
