Description:

Position Summary: We are looking for a motivated Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team, responsible for creating insightful reports, visualizations, and metrics that aid in business decision-making. The ideal candidate will leverage advanced technical skills to implement data-driven solutions and support strategic initiatives across the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, and report/dashboard development.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, scripting languages (R/Python), and BI tools (Tableau/Power BI/Excel).
  • Experience with machine learning, NLP, and advanced analytics techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex findings effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in a federal agency or similar environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities:

  • Create reports, visualizations, dashboards, and metrics using SQL, scripting languages (R/Python), and BI tools (Tableau/Power BI/Excel) to provide actionable insights addressing critical business questions.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs), designing and delivering relevant reports and dashboards that align with business goals.
  • Provide technical expertise to advance strategic initiatives in data- and knowledge-driven methods, applying tools and computational skills to extract, organize, interpret, and visualize data across various systems.
  • Develop and implement novel data science methods, integrating existing tools and prototyping solutions to optimize data models, storage, libraries, and algorithms.
  • Utilize machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), and other analytic tools to derive insights from extramural grant and administrative datasets.
  • Analyze clinical data using NLP techniques (e.g., named entity recognition, semantic disambiguation) and programming languages (R, Python, SQL) to support scientific computing and data analysis tasks.
  • Design compelling data visualizations and narratives suitable for diverse audiences using tools like Qlik, PowerBI, RShiny, or equivalent.
  • Perform rigorous quality control to ensure data accuracy and consistency, identifying and resolving data anomalies to maintain data integrity.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing existing tools and recommend evidence-based solutions to optimize efficiency and achieve better outcomes.
  • Document and maintain code following industry standards and information security protocols to ensure data confidentiality and integrity.
  • Provide business process management and automation support across client suboffices, assisting in the implementation of strategic visions and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Assist in determining user requirements and providing design input for grants management systems, participating in meetings to discuss system enhancements and automation solutions.
  • Support knowledge management of client functions, organizing and integrating knowledge related to training, policy, or compliance materials.
  • Develop training, compliance, and informational materials related to data sharing policies, collaborating with data repository colleagues to facilitate effective data sharing.
  • Plan and manage projects, ensuring adherence to schedules, milestones, and deadlines while monitoring resource utilization and maintaining project documentation.
  • Coordinate responses to customer inquiries, internal and external stakeholder requests, and policy decisions related to grants data and eRA systems.
  • Develop metrics, common data elements, and conduct cost-benefit analyses and program evaluations as required to support organizational decision-making.
