We are looking for Business Technology Management, Computer Science, Information Management or related students currently enrolled in a co-op or equivalent work experience degree program, available for 4 or 8 month terms starting September 2024.
Only students in work experience programs are eligible.

We are looking for self-motivated and team-oriented students to assist on various projects and initiatives. Get hands-on experience on different aspects of business data analytics as a contributing member of the team. Teams you may work in are:

  • Analytics & Reporting (TK) - is part of the Department Strategy section that focuses on supporting the City Operations Department with data management, sharing of information, operational excellence and alignment of analytics to strategy and risk mitigation
  • Business Intelligence and Analytics / Data Analytics (SN) - is part of the Service Innovation and Performance section that assists the City with understanding and leveraging analytics to improve outcomes for staff and citizens through client support and data visualizations
  • Operations Performance and Analytics (GO) - is part of the Infrastructure Operations section and will be implementing a performance management framework and task standards through data structures, data visualization, operational links, benchmarking, and season-end report card.

Responsibilities:

  • Support with data visualization and maintenance of reports and dashboards
  • Provide technical support and assistance to team, clients, and other stakeholders
  • Help with technical data management
  • Acquire and analyze data from structured and unstructured data sources
  • Research and analysis of processes, practices and opportunities
  • Prepare presentations, documents, and reports
  • Assist in evaluating and implementing projects, initiatives, and tools
  • Facilitate requirements discovery sessions and workshops
  • Identifies and suggests improvements to existing solutions and processes
  • Perform additional duties as needed
