SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

You should have:

  • Strong SQL Server database design and SQL skills.
  • Proficiency in building ETL processing using SQL Server SSIS.
  • A minimum of 5 years commercial experience administrating and performance tuning SQL Server databases.
  • 3+ years Power BI experience, with hands-on experience in developing semantic models, reports and dashboards.
  • Knowledge in DAX and Power M.
  • Strong Analytical skills, possessing the confidence to raise issues within required and collaborating to find optimal solutions.
  • Strong experience in data modelling, schema design and optimisation.
  • Experience with Cloud-based database services such as AWS RDS.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work directly with business stakeholders.
  • The ability to prepare technical and support documentation.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The role of Business Intelligence developer/DBA is to help the Data Team maintain and further develop areas such as database administration, ETL, reporting and business intelligence. The Data Team is responsible for delivering and maintaining data warehouse solutions, business application transactional databases, and integration with our vendor supplied systems.
You can expect a number of operational and project related challenges, including administration, performance tuning, troubleshooting as well as within the design and development of new solutions.

DUTIES

  • Develop collaborative relationships with stakeholders to enable the successful delivery of data-based solutions.
  • Ensure the quick turnaround of critical support issues within production environments.
  • Assess requirements for completeness and clarify where required.
  • Contribute to team estimation of development work so that business stakeholders can make informed decisions.
  • Design, develop and implement enhancements to data solutions – database, integration, reporting.
  • Develop reusable frameworks for solving common data integration needs.
  • Ensure data compliance and data security needs are met in the design of a solution.
