Description:

Salary: National up to £59,000 and London up to £62,000
An exciting time to join the team to impact how one of the divisions at the FCA changes the way it operates!
We are recruiting a Business Management Advisor for the Business Management, Change and Operations (BMC&O) Team in the Controls, Capabilities & Frameworks (CCF) Directorate within Supervision, Policy & Competition (SPC) division.
BMC&O is responsible for ensuring SPC has well-defined and resourced plans for delivering strategic business plan priorities - that the Division’s financial performance and use of resources is actively managed to optimise delivery; that strategic decision-making and operational performance is assured through effective governance, and ensures that change is effectively embedded across SPC. The team works flexibly across this broad remit and the successful candidate will be required to lead on key aspects whilst also providing operational resilience by having the knowledge and capability to deliver across the full breadth of functions. This is an exciting time to join CCF as SPC seeks to change the way it operates, and the importance of operational excellence and continuous improvement grows.

What you will be doing

  • Lead on the running and oversight of the Business Implementation Committee (BIC) working closely with Change Directorate to ensure effective performance of the sub-portfolio
  • Responsible for the operational efficiency of SPC projects and their reporting (via Clarizen) to aid in effective SPC business planning and strategic alignment of key SPC projects and initiatives
  • Working with projects to assess the impacts of project led change, securing a shared view of the change and the impact with SPC stakeholders; building a consolidated picture (and narrative) of change being delivered across SPC
  • Working alongside other colleagues in the team to provide back-up and resilience for the broad range of the team’s remit. The role holder will need to ensure they are sufficiently knowledgeable to be able to step-in to provide cover or additional capacity at times of high demand
  • Ensuring SPC governance committees are run effectively with strategically focussed agendas supported by robust record-keeping
  • Actively contributing to the further development of the BMC&O Team and wider CCF Division as SPC integrates and transforms the way it operates, and ensuring underpinning processes are documented and appropriately governed

What will you get from the role?

  • Gain an excellent understanding of and opportunity to influence how the SPC operates
  • Frequent exposure to senior management across the division and with Operations functions and the opportunity to engage with cross-FCA operational change initiatives
  • Fantastic opportunity to develop skills in leadership, problem solving, innovation and change management and to broaden your network across the organisation
