We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our Markets Securities Services team, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.

In this role, you will:

  • Implement a global and/or cross-regional operating model, working closely with traders, sales and business heads, and Business Operating sites, to encourage collaboration.
  • Deliver new products as required by the business. Obtain internal new product approvals and oversee technical delivery to support the products.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the business to meet customer needs, through partnership with sales and visits with clients where appropriate. Work with support areas to improve client experience and drive client efficiency.
  • Ensure the business is provided all support to meet the revenue and cost targets.
  • Develop relationships with key members of other Product groups in Global Markets and with key client support segments including Global Banking, Commercial Banking, Retail Bank and Wealth Management.
  • Drive technology development plans consistent with global target operating model. Represent the business IT in the CTB planning exercises.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the business process and deliver efficiencies.
  • Be responsible for the Operational Risk governance and control of the business & the continual assessment of operational risks associated with the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory. requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructuring and the impact of new technology.
  • Establish the necessary business reporting and intelligence to be the ‘go to’ person on the business and to be able to provide fact-based information and commentary for senior stakeholders and the Management team.
  • Be responsible for the efficient and smooth running of day-to-day Trading business including working closely with support infrastructure to ensure an optimal level of support is provided to the global business.
  • Drive and encourage constructive cross-country and cross-business teamwork by demonstrating collaboration and matrix management in action.
  • Support the business in analysis and implementation of Ad-hoc items such as internal/external third-party management, Model Risk Governance Requirements, Ad-hoc Regulatory requirements etc.

Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Markets Products is essential.
  • A solid experience in MSS Business Management, MSS Ops, Product Control or Traded Risk. Product specialist business management experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Controls and Operational Risk.
  • Ability to lead and influence various groups (Product Heads and Support Function heads) to achieve desired outcome
  • Effective communication skills to update senior management of progress and problems
  • Ability to represent Business Heads as an officer in charge when delegated
  • Effective and assured leadership skills
  • Understand market developments, business and client needs pre and post trade
  • Process thinker, with ability to design / engineer efficient processes, and create efficient STP work flow
  • Solutions oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and problem solving skills
  • Flexible with good time management; can carry out a number of different tasks concurrently
  • Able to work autonomously and with limited supervision
  • Able to investigate and highlight any control failings and to subsequently drive change where necessary
  • Graduation degree is a must – to secure a UAE Visa and Work Permit
