Description:

The role
As part of our Naval Combat Systems group, the Business Performance Analyst will reside within and support the WAMA (Warship Asset Management Agreement) program. This role is directly responsible for collating, analysing, maintaining and presenting complex contractual and internal reporting metrics. The role will also support business process improvement initiatives when required.

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Understand the customer, management and project leadership reporting requirements to develop fit-for-purpose management reporting dashboards using multiple system inputs and automated data gathering tools (where appropriate) for reliable and consistent reporting outcomes.
  • Ensure disparate information sources collated are validated, cohesively consolidated and aggregated to appropriate levels for management reporting.
  • Investigate and assess opportunities to automate reporting processes, developing professional, clear and concise business cases for management review to support improvement initiatives.
  • Utilise analytical expertise to support business improvement initiatives (eg. Value for Money performance assessments) and contribute to workflow improvements.
  • Support, when required, to other business areas, enhancing toolset or reporting development (eg Excel, Power BI, Sharepoint).

Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office and 9 day fortnight will be considered for this role.
About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Business analysis experience within an engineering and project execution organisation, specifically within the defence or resources industries on complex major capital projects.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of performance reporting at a program level.
  • Advanced data analytics skills to support data modelling and generation of business performance reports, with ability to identify and represent opportunities, risks, variances and trending information.
  • Demonstrated capability to utilise Power BI to establish robust and reliable business performance reporting (replacing Excel methods).
  • Experience with tools such as MS Project and Visio to aid development of business process improvement initiatives.
  • Attention to detail and understanding sensitivities of interactions and impacts of requirements in a customer/supplier environment.
  • Previous experience working within the Defence (preferably Naval Maintenance) environment would be advantageous.

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level or have the ability to gain one.
