WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU BRING?

  • A University/Community College degree/diploma in a relevant technical or business discipline e.g. Finance, Business Administration, Information Management Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, combined with directly related experience in systems development projects including tools, techniques, etc.
  • Must have experience in systems analysis, design, and implementation.
  • Must have experience in understanding project financials and collating quantitative and qualitative program benefits.
  • Extensive knowledge of current business processes, system and end-user documentation concepts and practices as well as experience in ensuring effective quality assurance.
  • Extensive knowledge of analysis of reports and data, highlighting trends and areas of inefficiency.
  • Extensive knowledge of operational workflows and management approvals processes.
  • Extensive experience in documentation and process design techniques, process improvement and implementation.
  • Sound business judgement; highly developed analytical, investigative and problem solving skills; excellent organizational, presentation, interpersonal, customer-service, verbal communication and technical writing skills; strong attention to detail and accuracy; must be solution-oriented.
  • Proficiency in the use of a Microsoft Office, Excel is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan for, work on multiple tasks at once, and prioritize and coordinate several assignments under pressure to meet project timelines.
  • Proven ability to effectively work with others in a team environment; to lead motivate, influence and obtain cooperation from team members and stakeholders to achieve the goals and objectives of the project.
  • Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees.
  • Knowledge of SAP business application is an asset.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Senior Director - SAP Program Delivery, for the TTC SAP Program, the Lead is the authority to represent the IT Services department to ensure the future processes are supported by the TTC and its policies. The SAP Business Lead is accountable for representing and promoting processes to the IT department and TTC leadership teams. It also leads other project resources (where required) by promoting the business transformation objectives of the project. The SAP Business Lead manages the entire process lifecycle (end to end) to ensure operational excellence, dealing with any process exceptions that may occur during the course of the implementation on behalf of the department.
The SAP Business Lead meets and collaborates with all stakeholders (ITS and non-ITS) to gather, monitor and present project benefits (both quantitative and qualitative) to ensure that the project delivers value to the TTC.
The SAP Business Lead supports the project manager in overseeing project finances and collaborates with finance teams to develop budget forecasts and schedules. They track program expenses, burn rate, and invoices, updating reports for compliance. Additionally, they assist in presenting financials at TTC forums.
Furthermore, they lead the business transformation from outdated procurement processes to a modernized SAP solution. This involves promoting process re-engineering, documenting business requirements, designing test scenarios, supporting implementation, resolving issues, and providing regular updates to the department head. They also translate current reporting requirements into future SAP reporting needs and facilitate the decommissioning of legacy processes. Additionally, they identify and mitigate risks and provide business requirements for process design workshops and SAP training. Finally, they offer post-implementation support and issue resolution as needed.
You will work with all project stakeholders to identify benefits of the project as it relates to cost savings, process improvements, ease of conducting business, audit and governance controls, improved reporting and other value-add criteria. You will work with the project team to quantify and track the benefits and present them at appropriate forums.
You will work the SAP program management, IT finance team as well as the TTC finance team to develop budget forecasts for the program/project including operating budget impacts, yearly calendarization and 10 year forecasts. You will also work with the accounts receivable and accounts payable teams to track program invoices, vendor payments, contractor billing. To ensure the program complies with all TTC prescribed financial reporting, you will develop/populate relevant project/program reports and present them at appropriate forums.
You will work closely with the Cross-Functional Leads e.g. Organizational Change Management (OCM), Business Process Re-engineering (BPR), Training, Testing, etc., teams to complete deliverables e.g. process design documents, test cases, training documents, communications with stakeholders) and the implementation vendor leads, assisting in all aspects of the project scheduling including, but not limited to deliverables for their respective department.
In addition to the above you be responsible for treating passengers and/or employees with respect and dignity and ensuring the needs of passengers or employees with disabilities are accommodated and/or addressed (if applicable and within their area of responsibility) in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders so that they can fully benefit from the TTC as a service-provider and an employer and perform other related duties as assigned.
