We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Risk & Compliance Manager to join our Business Operations team. As a Business Risk & Compliance Manager at UBDS, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s quality management system to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

The role is varied and requires a hands-on approach to supporting the maintenance and continual improvement of our various ISO and Compliance standards, that include:

  • ISO9001 Quality Management
  • ISO14001 Environmental Management
  • ISO20000 Service Management
  • ISO22301 Business Continuity Management
  • ISO27001 Information Security Management
  • Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus
  • NHS Data Security Protection Toolkit

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 2+ years experience as a Risk & Compliance Manager
  • In-depth knowledge of quality management systems and industry standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Attention to detail with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Certifications in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001) are highly desirable.
  • Experience in the IT industry is a plus

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Group COO with governance, particularly Risk Management
  • You will have a minimum of two year’s experience across ISO standards, ISO9001, ISO27001 and experience or exposure to the other standards is a bonus.
  • You will support the timely completion of our Cyber Essentials (and Plus) certifications and others as required.
  • You will own the compliance requirements which will include, creating new policies with policy owners; maintaining and ensuring that timely reviews of existing policies are conducted; chair the Compliance meetings and collate all appropriate information.
  • Undertake internal audits across all standards in a controlled manner in line with the Internal Audit Schedule, mapping and following through any identified noncompliance.
  • Undertake and lead, with the appropriate resources, all external certification audits and ensuring full readiness for audit at all times.
  • Review and report at least annually, any identified trends and performance issues, reporting to the Group Chief Operating Officer to ensure continual improvement.
  • Work with other departments and teams, as appropriate.
  • Support the Bid Team with responses for bids, tenders and other customer requirements as needed.
  • Support the Supplier Questionnaire processes with timely responses to SAQs.
  • Play a key role in the ongoing development of and delivery of training programmes.
  • Managing Customer Security Questionnaire support with various teams to ensure accurate and comprehensive responses to customer security questionnaires.
  • Ensuring UBDS insurance cover is aligned to our contractual commitments and reviewing our cover based on broker recommendations with the risk committee.
