Job Description: Business Support Manager, Accommodation
Position Purpose: The Business Support Manager role is a pivotal national position offering
onsite leadership and support to the Wellington-based student
accommodation team while overseeing business support functions across
Massey University’s Accommodation Service. Central to the role is the
maintenance of efficient and effective processes and services across all
three Massey accommodation locations, particularly in financial and
administrative areas crucial for meeting contractual and legal obligations
to residents. This includes managing relationships with property owners,
management companies, and body corporate representatives.
Additionally, the role entails auditing and optimising processes,
procedures, and systems to enhance data collection, interpretation, and
reporting. Serving as the financial lead, the individual ensures accuracy,
timeliness, and cost-effectiveness in financial management, striving to
minimise duplication of effort and costs while maximizing service quality in
alignment with the university’s commitment to excellence and compliance.
The Business Support Manager will ensure adherence to the Education
(Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice
2021, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and all relevant legal tenancy requirements. This
role operates within the Oranga Tauira Student Wellbeing team,
contributing to the holistic student experience and well-being within the
Student Experience Directorate.

Budget Management • Lead the annual budgeting process for Accommodation Services,

Qualifications and Experience
A tertiary qualification in, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting
